This blog follows my adventures in BookCrossing--the practice of leaving a book in a public place to be picked up and read by others, who then do likewise. It is a fascinating exercise in fate, karma, or whatever you want to call the chain of events that can occur between two or more lives and one piece of literature.

Catch #122!
"Eye of the Needle" has been found by new member ninabully, who reports: "My friend and I have been passing books back and forth for years. She
was the one who found it at Fridays restaurant on the front bench. She
was so excited we didnt know something like this existed. I was done
with my book so I read it first. The book sucked me in I wasnt sure if I
was going to like it. I loved it!!! I couldnt wait to see what was
going to happen next, if he was going to get away. From the point he
reached the island to the end I couldn't put it down. I was so proud of
Lucy. I cant wait for my friend to read it so we can talk about it and
send it on its way. Two thumbs up." I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Welcome to BookCrossing!

RABCKs #276 - #279
Today's RABCKs have packages heading Across the Pond and Down Under.
Patrick Suskind's "Perfume: The Story of a Murderer" is on its way to earthcaroleanne in Scotland so she can start a bookray with it. There was extra room in the package, so I also included an audiobook of Agatha Christie's "Evil Under The Sun" and some Bookcrossing goodies.
"The Daughters of Cain," by Colin Dexter, and "Malice Domestic," by Elizabeth Peters, as well as some miscellaneous BookCrossing goodies, are on their way to JuneQueensland in Australia—the winner of the You've Got Mail Sweeps! I hope the package makes her smile.

RABCKs #274 & #275 & Wild Release #870
The winner has been drawn for the January/February edition of the International Audiobook Sweepstakes RABCK, so I stopped by the post office today to mail off my package. The winner will be receiving two audiobooks from me: "My Forbidden Face—Growing Up Under the Taliban: A Young Woman's Story," by Latifa; and "Dinner for Two," by Mike Gayle. Congratulations and enjoy!
Since I was at the post office anyway, I decided to do a wild release as well. I left David Baldacci's "Hour Game" on a tall table in the lobby.

Wild Release #868 & Catch #121!
I left Jane Austen's "Emma" on a ledge outside America's Best in Greensburg around 1 p.m. and
before I could get back to work to make release notes on it, it was
found! I love it when that happens! Thanks for the quick journal entry, AnonymousFinder, and have a great time in Vegas with Emma!

Wild Releases #866 & #867
It seems like I'm stopping more often to fill up my gas tank these days. Is it because I'm driving more miles, or because I want to leave more books on top of the gas pumps? Today, it was the latter. I left Jeffrey Cohen's "It Happened One Knife" on top of pump number 2 at the Sunoco on West Otterman Street in Greensburg.
Not content with just one release, later in the day I left Sidney Sheldon's "Windmills of the Gods" on the bench by the mail and FedEx boxes outside 101 North Main Street in Greensburg.

Wild Releases #862 & #863
My first release for the new month was Brian Jacques' "Marlfox," which I left at the new McDonald's across from Westmoreland Mall in Greensburg. As of 1:30 p.m., it was sitting on a ledge by the tall tables nearest the soda machines. I can't guarantee it's still there!
My second release of the new month was James Herriot's "Every Living Thing," which I left in the waiting room of the Greengate Animal Clinic on Route 130 & Mt. Thor Road in Greensburg.
