This blog follows my adventures in BookCrossing--the practice of leaving a book in a public place to be picked up and read by others, who then do likewise. It is a fascinating exercise in fate, karma, or whatever you want to call the chain of events that can occur between two or more lives and one piece of literature.

Wild Release #291
I was looking for a shady spot where I could eat my lunch and I thought I'd find one at Hempfield Park on Route 66 North in Greensburg. I have passed the sign for it numerous times, but I have never been there, so I decided to see if it indeed offered a shady parking spot. Alas, it did not. It is a lovely park, though, with baseball fields, soccer fields, tennis courts, a playground, lots of benches and bleachers, and an athletic complex building. And there are some trees, just not in the parking lot! That didn't stop me from leaving a book, since I was there anyway. Jack Higgins' "The Keys of Hell" can be found on the landscaping rocks by the athletic complex building.
