This blog follows my adventures in BookCrossing--the practice of leaving a book in a public place to be picked up and read by others, who then do likewise. It is a fascinating exercise in fate, karma, or whatever you want to call the chain of events that can occur between two or more lives and one piece of literature.

Wild Release #464
Today I had to give Steak n Shake a hand. Every time I go there I am impressed with the speed; I can sit down, be waited on, read some of my book, eat my lunch, and get back to work all within an hour. I can also leave a book behind, which, of course, I did. I left John Irving's "The Fourth Hand" on top of the garbage can outside, protected from the snowy weather in a Ziploc bag.
