This blog follows my adventures in BookCrossing--the practice of leaving a book in a public place to be picked up and read by others, who then do likewise. It is a fascinating exercise in fate, karma, or whatever you want to call the chain of events that can occur between two or more lives and one piece of literature.

Wild Release #478
Niece No. 2 was performing at the Westmoreland Museum of American Art this afternoon, so Mom and I went to be entertained. Serendipity was with us: we actually got a space in the parking lot, and I had just finished "The Birth of Venus," by Sarah Dunant, so I left it propped up on a statue outside the doors. The book was still there when we left, but there was also a tour bus parked on Main Street--more serendipity? I think it is very possible that it will be picked up and travelling soon.
